New Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles scans reveal new character, RE4-style gun upgrades
With Capcom‘s Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles creeping nearer and nearer, it’s a good idea to arm ourselves with information for the impending zombie invasion. And these new scans fresh from Famitsu will give us that much needed cranial ammo come the game’s November 15 release date.
So, what do the scans actually say (since not all of us can read Japanese)? Well, for one, the new character’s identity has been revealed – his name is Sergei Vladimir, leader of Umbrella and somehow connected to the UCBS. We also see him facing off against Wesker in one of the screenshots.
Weapon upgrades in Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles will be handled the way it was in Resident Evil 4. Kill zombies, get points, use points to upgrade weapon to its next level. A good assumption would be that the reloading speed/stopping power factor will make its return in this system too.
Each Resident Evil game is broken up into chapters. After every chapter, your performance will be graded. While this has been a bit typical in Resident Evil games, it also presents the possibility of unlockable content. Please, Capcom, please!
Certainly a very meaty update for Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles, and it just whets our appetites more. Here’s hoping there won’t be any delays so we can grab onto our Zappers and start blasting away!
