New Sega Genesis Colection: Gain Ground

SegaThe PSP’s Sega Genesis Collection‘s coming out this November 7, while we retro-gamers wait for titles like Ecco the Dolphin or Sonic the Hedgehog, we’ll remember the good ‘ol days of 16-bit gaming – games that didn’t take more than a few hours to finish, and still left you with the warm and fuzzy satisfaction of kicking Dr. Ro-butt-nik’s over-sized posterior.

Then we see the trailers, and get even more nostalgic, even misty-eyed as we remember the said butt-kicking. Ahh, simple joy. We figured that’s the idea behind the release of this latest vid from playstation.com, thus keeping this said fuzzy feeling alive until release day.

For those of you old enough to remember, Gain Ground is an arcade action game created introduced way back in 1988. The game’s a simple “get to the other end of the map alive” setup. It has 20 characters to choose from, each having their own weapon sets and attributes, with the player allowed to pick three from this roster for the whole game.
