New Sonic Rivals Artwork
A couple of weeks ago, the folks at SEGA revealed Sonic Rival’s storyline – Sonic is on a mission to save Amy Rose and Miles who were mysteriously turned into cards. Knuckles and Shadow get into the fray when strange events start to unfold – all leading to one evil man, Dr. Eggman (aka Dr. Ivo Robotnik).
From the story, we’re now guaranteed four playable characters – Sonic, Shadow, Knucles, and Silver – but what we’re also interested to know which of Dr. Eggman’s badniks (enemy robots) would make an appearance in the game. We’ve always wondered if Moto Bug would re-appear, or the Buzz Bomber badniks that fire energy balsts from their stings.
Well, we stopped wondering when we saw new Sonic Rivals images over at IGN. Based on the artworks, it seems we’d be seeing yet another spider badnik in the form of “Venoom”. It looks menacing, and it could probably be an updated form of “Grabber” spider badniks in the past Sonic games. Remember how they wrap their legs around a target?
It looks like we’ll also bee seeing Drill Worm, Metal Hound and Vultur. We don’t know yet how they’d figure in the story, but it would seem there’s one badnik for each of the playable characters.
