This week’s Famitsu issue features the reveal for Masou Kishin: The Lord of Elemental, a Nintendo DS remake of the similarly-titled SNES original. The game deals with Masaki’s origin and how he came to pilot the Cybuster (Cyberstar?) and hate Shu Shirakawa.
“We’ve never dug into the backbone of Masaki and Cybaster (ed: Crybabystar?), even though they both appear regularly in the SRTOG series,” producer Takanobu Terada told Famitsu. “The Lord of Elemental answers the question of where those characters came from.”
Masou Kishin: The Lord of Elemental will still feature most of the gameplay conventions found in the original SNES game but Namco Bandai is making it all pretty with new graphics and some tweaks to the original story. A Japanese release date has been set for May 27. No word yet on an overseas release.
