New Wii titles from Konami, Hudson, Tecmo coming to Japan

Wii - Image 1According to the latest issue of Japanese gaming mag Famitsu, a bunch of new titles for Nintendo’s Wii video game console have been announced in Japan. It’s a pretty eclectic mix, too, and includes one offering each from Konami, Hudson and Tecmo.

The title from Konami is Jikkyou Powerful Pro Baseball Wii. It’s a big-headed baseball game that looks to be a Wii version of the PS2 title Jikkyou Powerful Pro Baseball 14 which was also announced in the same Famitsu issue.

IGN says that the Wii version will have a “Remo Pawa” (remote power?) mode that lets players use the Wiimote to swing and pitch. Jikkyou Powerful Pro Baseball Wii is slated for a July 19 release in Japan for 6980 yen (US$ 58).

Hudson is also bringing over its Jigsaw Puzzle series from the DS to the Wii. The first game for the Wii is Jigsaw Puzzle Kyou no Wanko. Apparently, this game features puzzles based on the Kyou no Wanko segment that airs during the early morning on Fuji TV. Jigsaw Puzzle Kyou no Wanko is scheduled for release in Japan on July 26 for 3800 yen (US$ 32).

Finally, the Tecmo title. Actually, this one doesn’t even have a title yet. It’s listed in Famitsu as a “Shin Kankaku Action Game”, or new style action game for those of us who don’t speak Japanese. No details about this title aside from the genre.
