New WoW Oceanic Realm Opening Thursday

World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade

Plagued by maintenance and lag during their prime time hours as well as severe overcrowding in Oceanic flagged servers, it would be a bit of an understatement to say that Oceanic World of Warcraft players have been having a pretty bad time for the past few weeks. There’s some good news over the horizon though, because they’re about to get a new Oceanic flagged realm.

Named Dath’Remar (PvE), the new realm will go live on Thursday. Players will also get free character transfers from all existing Oceanic realms, namely Aman’thul, Barthilas, Frostmourne, Jubei’thos, and Khaz’goroth. Now, most World of Warcraft players may be thinking, “One realm? It won’t do any good.” Well, they may be right, but it’s certainly a step in the right direction, and we think that this will somewhat alleviate the server issues that are occurring regularly in the five other Oceanic flagged realms.
