Nintendo comes clean – Metroid Prime Trilogy finally announced, coming to the Wii
It’s been a long, long time since the first snippets of a Metroid Prime Trilogy hit the rumor mill. Nintendo soon shot those down, saying it’s “all purely rumor and speculation.” Over a year later, Nintendo finally decides to come clean – they’ve announced that Metroid Prime Trilogy exists and that it’s making its way to the Wii.

Metroid Prime Trilogy will have three titles (duh!) in a single package – Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, and the Wii release, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. All three will retain their original storyline and settings, but the first two will get Wiimote support, so you can now play with the old Samus using a stick.
Priced at US$ 49.99, the Metroid Prime Trilogy will be available on August 24th, 2009.
