It seems Nintendo isn’t the only one getting hit by the Wii’s recent sales woes. Parts suppliers are also suffering as Nintendo cuts down on orders for Wii parts. MarketWatch reports that suppliers Mitsumi Electric Co. and Hosiden Corp. now expect their respective net profits to drop around 50% from their projected figures.
Of course, the Wii’s sales slump is only one possible reason for the drop in orders. Based on the insane number of Wii sales over the years, it’s not too far-fetched to think that almost everybody who wants a Wii already has one, especially with the sales surge generated by the September price drop.
Hey, maybe they’re gearing up for that new console Yoichi Wada was talking about.
