Nintendo DS 2007 Lineup Announced
Gather round, owners of the Nintendo DS! The 2007 lineup for the handheld with the quirky touchscreen mechanic is finally here, by way of IGN getting hold of some official documentation released after Satoru Iwata’s press conference last week. Without further adieu, let’s look and see what’s in store for the handheld that could.
Titles coming out in Japan this year:
- Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan 2 – 5/17/2007
- Kurikin Nano Island Story – 5/24/2007
- DS Medikara Training – 5/31/2007
- Sujin Taisen – 6/7/2007
- The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass – 6/23/2007
- Pokemon Fushigi no Dungeon A (Temp) – 2007
- Pokemon Fushigi no Dungeon B (Temp) – 2007
- Archaic Sealed Heat – 2007
- Mario & Sonic in Beijing Olympic Games (Temp) – 2007
And yet again, Japan gets ALL the good games first, namely Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan 2, the sequel of the original rhythm game (a favorite here in QJ, as the concept of dancing up a WORLD HADOUKEN automatically wins) and The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass (it’s a portable Zelda! What else is there to say?). Oh well, there’s always importing to help one stave off the pangs until the localized versions are released.
The entire list after the jump!

- The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass – Holiday 2007
- DK: King of Swing DS – TBA
- DS Air (Temp) – TBA
- Chibi Robo: Park Patrol – TBA
Despite the dreadful TBAs besmirching an otherwise impressive handful of titles, it’s good to know they’ve nailed down Phantom Hourglass’ localized version release.
And finally, the last (but definitely not least) list of third party titles, coming out in the US for 2007 and beyond:
- Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End – 5/22/2007
- Surf’s Up – 5/22/2007
- Shrek The Third – 5/2007
- Spider-Man 3 – 5/2007
- Pony Friends – 5/2007
- The New York Times Crosswords – 5/2007
- The Settlers – 5/2007
- Touchmaster – 6/12/2007
- Transformers The Movie: Autobots – 6/2007
- Transformers The Movie: Decepticons – 6/2007

- High School Musical – 7/31/2007
- Madden ’08 – 8/2007
- Heores of Mana – 8/2007
- FIFA ’08 – 9/2007
- Brothers in Arms – Summer 2007
- Jam Session – Summer 2007
- Bee Movie – 10/2007
- Looney Tunes – Q3/2007
- Bratz – Q3-Q4/2007
- Cars 2 – Q3-Q4/2007
- Juiced 2 – Q3-Q4/2007
- Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games – Q4/2007
- Ninja Gaiden – Dragon Sword – Q4/2007
- Crash of the Titans: 2007 – Q4/2007
It’s a bit of a mixed bag with the third party titles, but there’s definitely a few gems that stand out (Ninja Gaiden DS? Transformers? WANT!) as well as a surprise or two (High School Musical…?).
One thing’s for sure, though, Nintendo’s got a lot of things planned for its handheld this year. Who knows, next year could yield something that would roll us all over (Katamari Damacy DS, hint hint). And we’ll be here to update you on all things Dual Screen, of course!
