Nintendo DS experiences best sales week, evar

Feel the lurve...The people over at Nintendo must all be “walking on sunshine” right now as their lovely little DS Lites have just achieved an enormous feat: breaking the record for the most number of video game consoles ever sold in a span of only seven days. You can feel the love right there.

This is all coming as a sweet add-on to the fact that the recently-launched Wii has been performing well since its release in U.S and in Europe. As a kicker to this success, figures have recently shown that in the past week alone, some 515,000 units of DS Lites were sold across Europe. That’s the highest number that any of Nintendo’s consoles has ever achieved in a week, and as mentioned above, it is also the most that ANY console has ever sold in a single week.

Since it was launched in Europe last March of 2005, up to 8.5 million DS Lites have already been sold, and that number is expected to climb even higher especially this Holiday season, with the pink DS Lite being a popular item of choice for a lot of shoppers.

How sweet it is, indeed.
