Nintendo gets a break: judge dismisses patent-infringement lawsuit
Way, way back in 2007, Fenner Investments filed a lawsuit against Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo for a patent on tech described as “low-voltage joystick port interface.”
The judge is back with a verdict, dismissing the lawsuit against Nintendo. It’s about time Nintendo actually won in court over a patent infringement lawsuit.

The judge is back with a verdict, dismissing the lawsuit against Nintendo saying that were was no need for a jury trial. It’s about time Nintendo actually won in court over a patent infringement lawsuit.
The case against Nintendo in particular was over the Wii and GameCube controllers, something that seemed to become a trend over time. Since then, two other companies (to my knowledge at least, there may be more) had sued Nintendo over their controllers. One of them actually won and was awarded US$ 21 million.
