Nintendo GO A No?

We’ve heard rumors Nintendo’s next-gen console may get a name change from “Revolution.” One of those popular rumors has been named Nintendo GO, since the logo on the right had been allegedly leaked from Japan.

But is it real or just the internet rumor-mill working overtime? A reader from the Spanish forum Elotrolado.net found an odd coincidence that may mean Nintendo GO is a bogus.

Supposedly, the Nintendo GO design has a 6-faced D-pad logo (pictured on the right). However, that design looks awfully similar to the logo of a discontinued web design suite called Namo Webeditor 5 (pictured on the left).

Does this prove the Nintendo GO rumor is a fake? Well, no. Nintendo could have been completely unaware of the design’s likeness to Webeditor 5’s logo. Or not. Who knows? We’ll have to stay tuned and find out.
