Nintendo Minute Vol. 34: Family Wii Fun!

Nintendo

Ever wanted to bring your game console to a family outing? Chances are that your parents would be quick to dismiss your idea of a family Super Mario Bros. tournament ala-The Wizard. Fret not, though, because in this week’s installment of the Nintendo Minute, IGN asks Nintendo Senior Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Communications George Harrison (not the Beatle), “How will you get my Mom to play Wii?

Of course Harrison’s got a ready answer, building on the Wii’s image as a more social gaming console (“You can imagine parents and even grandparents watching kids play and saying ‘I can do that.’“). He also emphasizes the accessibility of the Wii controller especially when it comes to the Wii Sports titles (sayeth Mr. Harrison, “Just swing the Wii Remote like a bat to hit a baseball, or hold it like a golf club to tap in a putt. Nothing could be easier.“)
