Nintendo: MotionPlus is for upcoming games only, no plans to add support to older Wii games
The seven-week gap between the launch of the standalone Wii MotionPlus accessory and the first MotionPlus-supported Nintendo game, Wii Sports Resort, has resulted in a bit of speculation regarding the addition of MotionPlus support to existing Wii games. Sadly, that’s not gonna be the case.

Nintendo, however, has confirmed that there is no backwards compatibility in the cards for MotionPlus. According to a Nintendo rep, the device is “only for games that are designed to make use of its abilities”, hence there are no plans for patches that will enable MotionPlus support in older games.
