Nintendo MP3 Player Details
Nintendo had an MP3 player shown in a leaflet at the Leipzig Games Convention, but they never talked about it there. Now, some more details have been revealed. It looks similar to the Play-Yan Micro but doesn’t seem to feature video playback, which is a shame. The package will retail for €29.99. A release date and price for North America and Australia is unknown. Although it may change, the MP3 player should be released alongside the Opera DS web browser on October 2nd, 2006.
- For DS and GBA (fits into GBA slot of DS)
- Uses SD Memory Cards for storage (can support up to 2GB)
- Different skins
- All important information displayed on screen
- Headphone port featured in the unit itself (use for best sound quality)
Hopefully other regions get this soon as well. Although why they didn’t include the video capabilities is puzzling. It has brought down the price of the unit though so at least they aren’t charging us the same as the Play Yan!
