Nintendo of Japan Apologizes for Lack of Wii Component Cables

Wii CablesNintendo of Japan has recently issued an apology to their Japanese customers for not having the Wii Component cable available on launch. The cables, which were originally scheduled for a December 2nd release, have been postponed until December 9th. These cables will allow you to pump your Wii up to 480p on your HDTV, giving a “clearer” picture than the default composite cables. However, from the “apology”, it seems that these cables will be for VGA cables, and not the component cables after which the US market scrambled.

The US hasnÂ’t seen any official cables on the store shelves yet, but all the available ones online have been sold, leaving many Wii owners in the US aggravated at the scarce availability. Hopefully the delaying of the release will allow Nintendo to pump out a few more component cables for the high-demanding Japanese market. Both the component (US) and VGA (JP) cables will be highly demanded, so if you have a chance to purchase one, I strongly recommend it if you need them.
