Nintendo Proud of DS Lite Sales
Nintendo is very proud of its accomplishments with the Nintendo DS Lite as well as their two top-selling games for May – New Super Mario Bros. and Brain Age: Train Your Brain in Minutes a Day. Why? Well, according to a press release given today:
- New Super Mario Bros. sold at a rate of roughly one every four seconds in the United States during their reporting period
- New Super Mario Bros. was the top-selling game of May even though it was only out for 13 of the 28 days reported on
The DS Lite is doing extremely well as well:
- The system has already sold 136,500 units in only two days
- The DS Lite has sold 12% more than what the GBA SP did in that time
- Brain Age sales are triple what they were the week before DS Lite
- New Super Mario Bros. sales are double what they were the week before DS Lite
It looks like the DS Lite is set to widen the gap between the DS and PSP. Will North America turn into another Japan? We’ll see in the upcoming months.
