With less than two weeks to go before Wii Fit arrives in North America, Nintendo’s decided to spice things up with a special event.
The company has announced that it will be hosting the game’s launch over at New York City’s Central Park on May 19. Just in time too – we remind the readers that May is the National Physical Fitness and Sports Month.
The event will invite visitors to try up to 40 possible exercises using the Wii Balance Board. On a more charitable note, Nintendo will be donating US$ 5 (up to US$ 25,000) to the American Heart Association for every attendee who decides to give Wii Fit a try.
Also expected to make an appearance is celebrity trainer Ashley Boren, who will be providing training sessions for Nintendo’s title. Nintendo’s Central Park launch event will be taking place from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., in Merchants’ Gate, at the intersection of Central Park West, Central Park South, Columbus Circle and Broadway in Manhattan.
