With the NPD Group‘s February sales results now in, so are the responses. In this case, Nintendo has officially commented on the sales performance of its Wii and DS consoles last month.

It’s not surprising to hear from a former playing card company, especially when that company’s consoles sold well last month. Since the NPD Group‘s February sales results are now in, Nintendo has released an official statement regarding the matter.
Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing, had this to say:
Our momentum has not let up since the holidays and we expect it to continue throughout the year. We have the industry’s strongest lineup of games for everyone from core to casual gamers.
Nintendo has every reason to be proud of its performance: the DS sold nearly 587,600 units last month, topping the sales hardware charts. The Wii took the Number 2 spot on the charts with around 432,000 units sold.
