Nintendo Thinks: Big Brain Academy and Sudoku Gridmaster
The upcoming release of Brain Age, an anticipated title that works your thinker, has inspired other game developers to create some cranium-racking titles. These games are all created in hopes of reaching toward an audience that has never been into gaming. For instance, you might be sharing your DS with your old Aunt Margaret. Left picture: Aunt Margaret can’t wait to get her some Brain Age.
The first new title in the mind-bending spirit is Big Brain Academy, an already hit in Japan. In this game players complete a number of activities such as thinking, memorizing, and computing to find their brain ‘weight.’ After that is determined, the player is compared to a famous person with similar skills. Right picture: The categories being introduced by a blob-like creature.
Unlike Brain Age, Big Brain Academy introduces a frantic new multiplayer feature in which players complete activities to see who has the biggest brain. Up to eight players can compete with a single game card! This brain enlargement game will be hitting shelves on May 29th and will be rated ‘E’ for Everyone including Aunt Margaret.
These crazy brain games don’t stop there! Another title will be introduced, but instead of using obnoxious brain references (how the darn can you determine your brain weight?) the game will feature a favorite among many: Numbers!
That’s right, this game is called Sudoku Gridmaster. Players will be able to play Sudoku, a red-hot puzzle game that is sweeping the nation, in four different difficulty levels: Practice, Easy, Normal, and Hard. Left picture: Imagine that, but on your DS screen.
This game will be available June 26th and will be rated ‘L’ for Lame.
