Nintendo to replace bricked Wiis
Were you lucky enuff to get your hands on a Wii but unlucky enuff to have it bricked shortly after you got it out of is box? Apparently, for some Wii owners updating their console’s system firmware caused the following message:
Error Code: 110213 There is a problem with the WiiConnect24 service. Please try again later.
But like the good company that it is, Nintendo of America isn’t dragging its corporate feet on the issue. Instead the company said it will replace bricked consoles. The affected consoles will be replaced within 3 to 4 business days if there are no important data saved in the system data. If you do have some data (e.g. downloaded Virtual Console games) in there that you want to retrieve, it will take 4 to 10 days to process your console.
Although Nintendo chose not to divulge the extent of the bricking problem, it did say it is working on fixes that can resolve the error without replacing or repairing the console itself. In case your console has been affected by the firmware update you can call Nintendo’s Service Department at 1-800-255-3700 to discuss available options.
