Games

  • Leave it to Tingle to star in not one, but two Zelda spinoff games. The trippy 35-year-old tights-wearing weirdo from Majora’s Mask has been confirmed to be the unlikely face of two new Nintendo titles for the DS. Link
  • The Wii joins the downloadable Final Fantasy craze as Square Enix announces the arrival of the 1990 installment of their top franchise into the Virtual Console, Final Fantasy III next month. Link
  • D3Publisher sent out a press release announcing their latest offering of fun for the whole family, Family Party: 30 Great Games Outdoor Fun. Made exclusively for the Wii, it is sure to engage everyone in the family to join in on a variety of fun activities like martial arts, team sports, individual athletics, and challenging brain games. Nintendo

  • Getting stronger with The Force, the Wii is. Bensussen Deutsch & Associates has announced that they’re manufacturing licensed Lightsaber accessories to give you the extra Jedi Knight feel when playing Star Wars games on your Wii. Also available are Clone Trooper blasters, in case you want to play the generic flunky. Link
  • Speaking with Big Download on the video game adaptation of his latest movie, actor Shia LaBeouf unloads a few on the Wii, saying, “it’s kind of an amateur console. I’m not into the Wii thing.” Link

Homebrew

  • Just because the Wiibrew stalwarts haven’t been active lately doesn’t mean there aren’t any quality brews out there to tinker with. Seien released the inital version of WiiSpace earlier this week, adding another promising retro space shooter for the Wiibrew scene. Link
  • wiisixtyfour released a new build for Waninkoko’s Savegame manager, offering some variety to the original release. Link
