Nintendo: Wii Fit, Mario Kart to keep momentum
Even while Super Smash Bros. Brawl continues to tear its way into the millions of Wiis deployed worldwide, Nintendo’s success streak won’t be coming to a halt any time soon. Marketing director Dawn Paine of Nintendo UK says that April is bound to be “explosive” for the gaming giant. Find out why when you digest the info we’ve crammed into the full story.
Nintendo Company Ltd. is still skirting the edge of sales for both hardware and software, but it appears that the Japanese gaming giant and its Western divisions are not about to lost momentum in the coming months. Nintendo UK’s managing director, Dawn Paine, said that the release of Wii Fit and Mario Kart in the UK is nearing the corner, and April’s bound to be a refresher on the non-gamer front for the leader in the new market.
“We think Wii Fit is a very catalytic title for us and we think it is the next chapter in the true broadening of the marketplace,” said Paine. She further iterated that Wii Fit could be explosive in the broader gaming market, and the alleged excitement of retail confirms that anticipation for renewed success.
For Mario Kart, on the other hand, Nintendo has taken great care to involve both aspects for the core gamer fanbase as well as features that would prove appealing to new gamers. They believe that the Wii version of Mario Kart will enjoy just as much admiration from both sides of the market. “We have very high expectations,” she added.
But all this anticipation is killer on Nintendo Wii and DS supply. Super Smash Bros. Brawl brought about a huge demand hole for supply to fill in, and Nintendo promises that they’ll improve their efforts to meet the demand for both the DS and Wii.
