Polyphony Digital CEO Kazunori Yamauchi has revealed in an interview with Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu that they aren’t planning any DLC for the upcoming PSP entry in the Gran Turismo franchise. The same holds true for the cars.

“We’re making the PSP Gran Turismo with the feeling of how would we make the first game in the series now, in 2009,” said Yamauchi. “So, we wanted to make the content fulfilling for those playing for the first time. And so, we made the composition of the software simple as well. We made it so it won’t tie in with the separate business of network downloads.”

Even without DLC, racing fans will still be treated to a whopping 800-plus cars and 35 tracks with 60 layout variations. Impressive numbers, and all that will be running at a full 60fps.

Gran Turismo PSP has been set for an October 1 release in the US.
