No More Heroes: Destroy Float and Travis Darkside trailer videos

Here’s more cel-shaded action that’s definitely Suda 51-flavored in this latest trailer video update of Marvelous Interactive’s No More Heroes for the Nintendo Wii. Let’s see what’s up with Travis and his motley crew of assassins, spandex-wearing superheroes and faceless generic enemies that die in one gratuitous shower of pixels.

The first video’s all about a well-documented way of defeating a videogame boss – knocking his projectiles back with a well-timed strike with our protagonist’s beam katana. Of course, not that Travis has any choice, seeing as Destroyman’s floating way up in the ceiling, clearly out of range.

The second video reveals something new about No More Heroes – a darker, more powerful side of Travis coming to live via the roulette system at the bottom of the screen. We can’t really tell from the video (since it’s a bit too short), but it seems that when this mode activates, Travis’ attacks hit harder, faster, and clearly needs a bit more of reaction time for the finisher. His hair turns a bright blonde color, too – could this be a homage to the Super Saiyan mode of Dragon Ball Z fame? Knowing Suda, it could be.

Embeds are below, you know what to do. Enjoy
