No plans for Final Fantasy on Xbox 360
If you love Square Enix‘s trademark Final Fantasy franchise, the Microsoft Xbox 360 may not be for you, at least for the time being. One of the publisher’s top executives, Shinji Hashimoto, says “for FF on the Xbox 360, it’s currently a completely blank page.”
RPG enthusiasts were hoping to see more of Final Fantasy on the platform after the online Final Fantasy XI was ported to the system. Now, the Microsoft role-play scene will have to look for another title or franchise to breathe life into this genre in the console.
This comes at a time when FFXIII for the Sony PlayStation 3 is under development and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles is slated for the Nintendo Wii. Don’t worry, Xbox community, developers and publishers often find themselves retracting earlier statements when ports do come around from out of nowhere. Besides, they haven’t ruled out their other RPG franchises yet.
