No PS3 Pre-Order ‘Til October (So Hold On To Your Money) *UPDATE*
UPDATE: According to Randam_Hajile in the NeoGAF forums, an email was sent out to EB Games/Gamestop managers this evening, stating that the pre-order status of the PS3 SKU will be discussed at the next store manager conference, which isn’t held until September making the official September/October pre-order date definite. If there are already pre-orders at Gamestop/EBGames, chances are, these aren’t “real” or “official”.
You’ve probably heard of (or experienced) the Xbox 360 madness when the console came out. There were no units available at all in many stores! So I guess the logical thing to do if you’re after the much-anticipated Sony PS3 is to make sure your name’s on the top of the pre-order list.
Too bad that’s not going to happen any time soon.
Industry insiders at NeoGAF are saying Gamestop/EB Games will not be taking pre-orders for the next-gen console until October. So hold on to your money first and don’t go all psycho just yet. It just might be worth waiting for the PS3; after all, you’ve been waiting for its release for what feels like forever. Or you could always consider buying a Wii instead…
