All he had to say about Final Fantasy XIII (PS3, Xbox 360) was that there will be new stuff shown at E3 2009. Apparently, Nomura is no longer very involved with Final Fantasy XIII, so he has shifted his focus onto Versus XIII and Final Fantasy Agito XIII.

For the former, they’re currently testing the battle system and some “map gimmicks”. There’s going to be a lull in Versus XIII news for a bit, but Nomura says that once they get to a certain point, he’ll show everyone something “very surprising”.

As for Agito XIII, the battle system has gone through enough overhauls that it’s already taken on a form different from the battle screens we’ve previously seen. Quality is once again the highest priority for Agito XIII as Nomura wants it to be the pinnacle of handheld RPGs in this console generation.

Even more relevant to my interests is a quick mention of the new Parasite Eve PSP game, The Third Birthday, which is apparently far enough into development that it’s now playable through the prologue.

Fans of classic PSOne games can also look forward to some type of announcement for the PlayStation Network‘s Game Archives in the future, although chances are this will only be for Japan.
