Nvidia driver speaks of possible GoW for PC

Nvidia says so.

There have already been numerous rumors regarding a possible port of Gears of War from the Xbox 360 to the PC, which representatives from Microsoft debunked immediately. Now, however, it seems that there may be even more signs pointed in that direction, as discovered by the folks over at Joystiq.

As it turns out, they downloaded an Nvidia driver from a site known as The Guru of 3D, a site that hosts tweaked and modded drivers. However, it turns out that the one they downloaded somehow had the popular Microsoft title in the driver’s script. Of course, we have to bear in mind that the driver has been modded in the first place, and we have no idea if that little line of script was placed there by someone who actually works for Microsoft, or just some bored and random coder.

It may be hard to get our hopes up, but it’s also difficult to discount the possibility of such a port. After all, it took other console titles at least a year or so before their PC versions were released. Plus, there’s also the fact that GoW, which is from Microsoft, may well be a tool that can be used to convince users to switch to Windows Vista once it hits the market.

Well, we’re crossing our fingers anyway.
