Nyko announces Charge Station 360 and Power Kit 360
Getting tired of having to change your controller’s batteries all the time? Well then, stop trying to tear all of your hair out because Nyko has just announced a pair of brand-new doodads for use with Xbox 360’s wireless controllers. These two new devices – the Charge Station 360 and the Power Kit 360 – provide different solutions for gamers who need additional power for extended gaming marathons.
Let’s take a look at the Charge Station 360 first. It consists of a dual-port battery charging cradle and two rechargeable battery packs. The batteries can be simultaneously charged in the cradle, so you can just switch out a drained battery and pop fresh ones in when needed.
The Charge Station 360 plugs into directly to a power outlet and each battery pack can provide up to 25 hours of additional playtime. Charging time for the two battery packs is four hours (two hours per pack), a mere one-sixth of their battery life.
Nyko‘s Power Kit 360, on the other hand, consists of a high quality NiMH rechargeable battery pack and a charging cable for simultaneous charging while playing. Just plug the battery pack to the Xbox 360’s USB port using the longer-than-others charging cable. Once the battery has enough power it’s showtime.
This is absolutely perfect for those times when you just can’t be bothered to change batteries. Like the Charge Station 360 battery packs, Power Kit 360 pack also boasts up to 25 hours of play per charge. You can also check the battery’s gauge through the Xbox Dashboard.
You can grab these babies at retailers nationwide. Nyko’s Charge Station 360 retails for US$29.99 and the Power Kit 360 retails for US$14.99.
