Oblivion for PSP and PS3: Back with a Vengeance?

OblivionBack in April, we featured two contradicting reports about the existence of the Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion for the PS3 and PSP platforms — one said that it will be available, the other saying that it won’t. Both statements allegedly came from Bethesda. After that snafu which got a lot of people excited and furious, the issue pretty much died of natural causes. But, now, it is back with a vengeance…or is it?

Recently, an updated listings of games at U.S.-based online games retailer EBGames, seem to provide proof that a PSP and PS3 versions of the game actually exist and will be available in a later time. The PS3 version is sporting a release date of 17 November 2006 – which is pretty much consistent with the earlier report about its availability. It’s ESRB rating is still ‘Pending’ and it will be have a $59.99 price tag.

On the other hand, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion PSP version, which doesn’t have a definite release date in the earlier report, will allegedly be available on March 15, 2007 and will have a $49.99 price tag.

For now, the people at Bethesda have opted to keep quiet and have not answered questions with regards to development and details of the game. Until they don’t talk about it, this would be added to the long list of rumors and backfence talks. With that, we ask for your opinion about this. Do you think that this is a real development or do you think that this is a fake? Would you want it to be true? Tell us through your comments.
