Of Apache people, whiskey and Gun Showdown
So, it’s been one month since Gun Showdown‘s release. Are you quite familiar now with the basics of horseback riding, gun shooting and bounty collecting all in classic Western style? Developer Activision really was brilliant after incorporating various elements for it gives the game a new feel every single time.
If you are with friends, you can always choose the multiplayer mode which by the way is vast in its own way. This specific mode offers several “sub-modes” like Showdown, Deathmatch and Golden Cross . Should you get tired of all th action, you can always sit down and play poker with the Texas Hold ‘Em mode.
Then of course, there’s always the story mode that is exciting and somewhat controversial in every turn. Did you know that an altercation actually occurred between Activision and the Association for American Indian Development regarding wrong depictions of the Apache people within the game. One good example is the whiskey usage for health recovery hinting that the Apache drink a lot.
Anyway, the game is out. You have them in your hands by now. We can only say that the game is set during the 1800s and a lot of things have already changes since then. It is not bad to enjoy the game as long as you keep your history straight. And in case you can, just avoid being wounded too much so that you can “cut down” on whiskey yourselves.
More screens await after the jump!
