Race: The Official WTCC GameIt seems that Valve’s Steam platform is really getting its fair share of attention these days. We just brought you the news regarding Ukrainian games developer GSC Game World‘s decision to use Steam to distribute their latest title Heroes of Annihilated Empires, and now we’ve got another company who wants to do the same.

Word has just come out that acclaimed Swedish developers SimBin will be using Valve’s Steam to deliver Race: The Official WTCC Game to consumers around the world. Additionally, all retail copies of Race sold for the PC in the EMEA territories will include Steam functionality for auto-updating, matchmaking, and anti-piracy encryption.

“Delivering Race via Steam means over 10 million gamers will have the chance to purchase the world’s first ever World Touring Car Championship game directly from their PC,” said Henrik Roos, CEO of SimBin.

“Powering the retail version of Race with Steam,” he said, “means every player will have all the latest content available for the game and be able to enjoy the industry’s most advanced set multiplayer services.”

Race brings all the intensity, drivers, cars, and locations of the 2006 WTCC to PC gamers worldwide. It features over 60 different and accurately modeled cars and 10 officially licensed tracks from four continents and has multiplayer support for up to 26 real players or online AI opponents. Race: The Official WTCC Game is due for release worldwide via Steam and at retail in EMEA territories on November 24.
