Okami big batch of screenshots: sumi-e goodness
If you missed out on Okami back when it was released for the PlayStation 2 (like me), you may want to check out this big batch of screenshots for the game. The screens show off the beautiful sumi-e style graphics, which is enough reason (for this writer at least) to pick up the Wii version when it comes out. Screenshots after the “read more” link below.
Okami received tons of awards back when it was released for the PlayStation 2. The game was lauded for its story, originality, and of course, its graphic design. Which is why this writer (who missed out on its first release) is glad that it’s being ported onto the Wii.
The cel-shaded graphic style of Okami is based on sumi-e style art, which is an Asian form of brush painting you’d normally find in Japanese art. This (extremely large) batch of screenshots shows off the game’s beautiful rendition of the art in its digital form.
Okami‘s release for the Wii has unfortunately been moved from this month to April 15, but we’re willing to wait if it means a better game. In the meantime, here are the latest batch of screenshots, enjoy!
