We’ve got the skinny about this week’s releases for your Blu-ray home entertainment systems, and even though the list for this week isn’t all that beefy, the titles are quite interesting. With movies delving into moral dilemmas, mysteries, and alternate realities, you’re bound to be stuck in your seats for a while.

What do we have this week on Blu-ray? Three movies and three concerts. That may not seem much, but when you put in Santana, Deep Purple, Yes, George Clooney, Tommy Lee Jones, and Franka Potente into consideration, we think you’ll be giving this week’s releases a closer look.

Did we mention that this week’s slew of concerts were all performances at the lovely Swiss municipality Montreux? Anyway, let’s check out the movie titles for this week.

Warner Bros.’ In the Valley of Elah tells a heavy and gripping story about a soldier who had just come home from the war and suddenly disappears. When his war veteran father and a detective try to find him, they discover some very painful things.

Michael Clayton, on the other hand, is a suspense law film about a “fixer” played by George Clooney. How do you deal with a friend and colleague’s mental breakdown? On top of that, title character Michael Clayton also has to deal with a massive conglomerate that will do anything and everything to keep its secrets.

Last but not least is the Sony Pictures movie, Run Lola Run. It stars Franka Potente as the running heroine who needs to get 100,000 Deutsche Marks in twenty minutes to save her boyfriend’s life. What’s interesting is that the movie’s three realities or “runs.” Every little action changes the outcome, and every decision leads to a different ending.
