Finally, it’s October 1st – Sony is proud to launch the latest addition to the PSP roster, the PSP Go. Accompanying the release is a lineup of titles, content, and offers that all look to turn that “no” into a “Go.” Enough of the babbling, let’s get right to it.

To help your Go-gaming get started, virtually every PSP title from this point on will be available at the PlayStation Store for download using Wi-Fi, via Media GO on the PC, or using your PS3. If you caught the latest PlayStation Store update, there’s quite a long list of PSP content over there, so be sure to check it out. Some of those include:

  • PlayStation Network exclusives such as PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe (available today), Fat Princess: Fistful of Cake and LocoRoco 2: Midnight Carnival
  • Bite-sized “minis,” such as Tetris and Fieldrunners, ideal for quick gameplay sessions on-the-go
  • More than 150 titles previously released on UMD Legacy titles such as God of War: Chains of Olympus, Madden NFL 10, Soulcaliber Broken Destiny, and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10
  • More than 60 PS one Classics titles including Final Fantasy 7 and Metal Gear Solid
  • More than 2,300 movies and 13,000 TV shows from major studios and content partners

When you get a PSP Go, you’ll also get a voucher to download the starter version of Rock Band: Unplugged, as well as a demo of Patapon 2 pre-loaded into the handheld. There’s also an ESRB app included in the package, explaining ratings, content descriptions and instructional vids to guide you in setting the parental controls up.

Of course, Sony won’t be letting retailers go empty-handed with the software. For that, they’re also rolling out PlayStation Network Game Cards that you can purchase at participating retailers.
