On Shelves This Week: August 3 to August 9, 2008

On Shelves This Week - Image 1It may not be raining cats and dogs in the gaming world this week, but that does not mean there’ s nothing to look forward to for the days between August 3 and 9. We’ve got a little bit of racing (GRID, Crash Time) for daredevils out there, and an adventure that’ll sure to teach a lesson or two to  those youngsters who do not believe in monsters and who throw house parties when their parents are away (Monster Madness: Grave Danger).

We’ve got quite a lean (Quick Yoga, anyone?) list this week, with most of the fat headed over to Nintendo consoles, particularly the DS. Not to worry, though, Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and Sony’s PlayStation 3 did get some bones thrown their way with Crash Time and Monster Madness: Grave Danger respectively.

We know, we know. You’re craving for more action, especially since the PSP isn’t represented again this week. But that’s not to say there aren’t anything cooking up for next week. All that’s in the future. Why don’t we check out today.

Crash Time: Autobahn Pursuit – If you’re used to being the “bad guys” spinnin’ round the cops on racing games ala Need for Speed, then this time you get to fit the other shoe. Be part of the elite “Cobra 11”  police force and solve exciting cases in several diverse missions. Helicopter chases, moving trains action and reconnaissance run in tanks included.

GRID – It’s motor sport at its best yet again, with Codemasters‘ racing title for the DS (also and already available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC). Race across three continents in diverse locations and show what kind of moves you’ve got aboard your bike. This DS version will feature the track editor and will also allow you to be able to create your own race.
