On XBL: 2006 World record waterballoon fight
Major Nelson mentioned recently that a sixty-second tour of the 2006 world record waterballoon fight is up on Xbox Live for people to pick up.
While they’re not being very descriptive about what’s on the vid (Major Nelson simply says something to the effect of “I was here last year”), it does happen to be free, so there’s no excuse for people looking for a free laugh. It’s only open to gold members in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, UK, and the US though, so Koreans are out of luck.
[A clarification: Xbox didn’t randomly choose to host a video of this event, picking it above the Tomatina or some other event. Xbox had a valid reason for hosting a video of the Water Balloon Challenge. Please see the correction below. – Ed.]

Xbox hosted the Water Balloon Challenge on April 22, 2006, at the famous (and beautiful) Coogee Beach (Sydney, Australia) to celebrate the launch of the Xbox 360 console in Australia and to raise money for the Coogee Surf Lifesaving Club. We have photos from that event, if you’re interested.
There were about 50,000 balloons in the massive fight – the same number of Xbox 360 consoles sold in Australia in the two months after its Australian launch on March 23, 2006.
