Opera offers some PS3 functionality in v9.2
Greater Opera functionality on the PS3 would make for an interesting development, wouldn’t it? Well, worry no more, because that’s apparently going to be one thing we can expect just about… now.
While scouring the net for news for our Wii blog, we stumbled upon this post from the Opera Desktop Team. In it, they mention a bunch of changes for Opera, including one thing PS3 owners may very well like. According to the Opera Desktop Team, “we have now ppc-linux .6 packages: that means that they work (okay, should work) on your PS3! – if you installed Linux on it.”
Yes folks, you can finally try out putting Opera as another browser type on your PS3. On the flipside, The latest build should allow for fullscreen resolution on YouTube, so if you’re like some of us here, you might be able to get even more out of your PS3 than you ever expected. In the meantime, you may want to read up on some tutorials for installing Linux, as well as some other apps, on your PS3. Enjoy!
