Overlord To Overwhelm Xbox 360 in 2007
UK-based publisher Codemasters has signed next-gen action adventure Overlord from Triumph Studios, famous for the Age Of Wonders series of fantasy strategy games for the PC. Hitting Microsoft’s console in Summer 2007, Overlord will feature an immersive, dark fantasy world injected with a healthy dose of black humor and parody. A mysterious figure has inherited the legacy of the mighty Overlord, and it’s up to the player to fill his shoes – by being as evil as one can get…
Besides the unique, twisted fantasy setting, key innovation lies in the use of impish creatures called Minions. Believing in the new Overlord, they act as the common soldiers, fighting and dying for their master. Players will be able to control whole hordes of them, looting and pillaging the game’s world. Which, actually, isn’t necessary to complete the game – as “ player choices truly shape the world.”, you can be bad-ass and evil, but you don’t have to.
Barry Jafrato, Senior VP of Brand at Codemasters, commented on the new publishing deal: “WeÂ’re delighted to be working with Triumph on the title, bringing something fresh and original to next-generation gamers.”
