Online gaming fans who are familiar with P2 Entertainment (formerly Perpetual Entertainment) might be saddened to hear that a report has been circulating to herald the company’s demise. According to a rumor, the MMO outfit is shutting down after months of struggle.
P2 Entertainment is best known for setting on the ambitious task of developing Star Trek Online. However, the project was never completed as financial woes plagued the company, forcing it to lay off most of its employees.
Another hard blow came to P2 when they locked legal horns with PR company Kohnke Communications. A dispute over back-pay issues was taken to court but was later settled outside to put a quick end to the fiasco.
We haven’t heard confirmation from P2 Entertainment itself, but as of now things aren’t looking all that good for the beleaguered game maker. We’ll give you an update as soon as we can.
