Panzer Tactics strikes on DS
CDV has announced Panzer Tactics DS, the first turn-based strategy title in a WWII scenario for the Nintendo handheld.
Different campaigns for three factions – Allied forces, Germans and Russians – will lead players through a set of 30 missions which get more challenging as they progress. The missions themselves will be historically accurate, boasting an excellent AI attempting to defeat the player using skill and tactics, not just with massive amounts of units. Special “Commando” missions are going to take players behind enemy lines, letting them sabotage enemy structures.
A total of 150 units will be included, many of them unlockable and equipped with various special attacks.
Multiplayer modes are in as well, supporting regular wireless connections with up to 4 players, but also a hot-seat mode for 2 players on the same DS. A total of 10 multiplayer maps will be provided.
Panzer Tactics is set for a release in fall and will be on display at E3.
