PaRappa the Rapper for PSP gets release date
Chop! Kick! Chop!
For those waiting for this little doggie to finally start rapping on their PSPs, well Sony Computer Entertainment Japan (SCEJ) has finally announced a release date for the PSP version of PaRappa the Rapper, and the day to mark on your game shopping calendar would be December 7.
Made popular on the PS1 in 1996, this action-rhythm game features our favorite 2D, beanie-wearing, canine rap artist. However, as PaRappa has entered the next-gen handheld scene, he’ll be getting some extra features for lovers of the original game to enjoy.
One of the new things that players can look forward to would be the use of the PSP’s wireless capability. On ad hoc mode, up to four players can battle it out for word supremacy. Don’t have anyone to play with? Well, that’s easy since one can now transmit a trial version of PaRappa the Rapper into another PSP unit. The trial version will consist of Stage 1 of the game, but will be removed from your friend’s PSP when they turn off their unit or press “Home” (so remember to be nice, and don’t beat them around just yet so that they’d be convinced to buy the game as well).
Sony is also planning to allow players to play stages 1 to 5 to, literally, a new beat by putting up downloadable tunes at the PaRappa the Rapper official site which they could then add into the game. To keep things fresh, you know?
So start saving up for that Japan order that you have to make soon, as the game will sell for ¥ 3980 or around US$ 34.
