All set to go to this year's Penny Arcade Expo? While PAX 10 certainly tips its hat to the free-thinking indie game devs out there, don't think for a moment that it's forgotten about the mainstream community. The organizers have announced new details regarding this year's keynote speaker, Omegathon event, and musical lineup. First off, we're letting the readers know that Pax 2008 has successfully signed on Ken Levine as its keynote speaker. Levine is the current president and creative director of 2K Boston, a dev studio best known for creating the BioShock FPS for the Xbox 360 and Windows PC platforms.
Making a comeback this year is PAX's much-awaited Omegathon event. Twenty pre-registrants will be randomly chosen as square off against each other in tabletop and video games. The winners of this event will receive two tickets for this year's Tokyo Game Show (October 11 to 12), US$ 5000 in spending money, and a new home theater system. The event's organizers have also announced PAX 2008's planned selection of musical guests:
- MC Frontalot
- mc chris
- FreezePop
- the MiniBosses
- Jonathan Coulton
- The OneUps
- The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets
- Anamanaguchi
