PCB Makers Will Start Shipping PS3 PCBs Come Q3
Shipping of the Sony PS3’s printed circuit board (PCB) from Taiwan PCB makers Nanya Printed Circuit Board (NPC) and Unimicron Technology will start in the third quarter of this year.
A PCB is an electrically insulating board onto which electrical components are assembled and wired together.
There have already been samples of the PCBs that Sony have approved, according to Apple Daily.
Another company is still waiting for sample approval from Sony for PCBs that will also be used in the game console before it can start the shipment.
Nintendo on the other hand, will also be awaiting the shipment of Unitech Printed Circuit Board’s PCBs come the third or fourth quarter of the year.
