Pete Hines: On Fallout 3 DLC, a Fallout MMO, and the Oblivion books
An interview with Bethesda‘s Pete Hines reveals some future plans they’ve got for Fallout 3 and the franchise as a whole. Hines talks about the DLC, the possibility of a Fallout MMO, and where the Oblivion books would take the franchise. Details in the full article.
The Original Xbox Magazine managed to get hold of Bethesda‘s Pete Hines and got him to talk about the future of Fallout 3 and the franchise as a whole. Hines talks about the DLC, the possibility of a Fallout MMO, and where the Oblivion books would take the franchise.
With the launch of Broken Steel, Hines confirms that it would be the last of the Fallout 3 DLC, but it seems they’re still open to more. “Yes,” he replied when asked if it would indeed be the last, he replied, “Whether it’s the absolute last one remains to be seen. Because it’s been hugely successful.”
As far as a Fallout MMO is concerned, Hines was careful not to go charging ahead. “It’s to be seen,” he said, but pointing out that all the hard work they’ve done for the Fallout franchise may go to waste if they “f*ck it up.” He did, however, indicate that they are ready for the challenge.
Then finally, the Oblivion books. Hines confirms that the books will not be a continuation of Oblivion, but the story will fit right into it by “telling another story in the world,” he said. “But whether it has anything to do with anything we might do next is entirely up in the air.”
