Peter Dille on the PS3 launch and whatnot
Now we know you guys can’t get enough of Sony, especially now that the PS3 launch is drawing near. Well, Engadget recently had a chat with SCE’s Marketing SVP, Peter Dille. Want to know what is it about? Go take a look:
First off, he says that the PS3 “production is starting to crank up”. And the good thing is, he says that we really can expect two million PS3 units before the year ends, so hooray for that. After all, this is just one pre-launch glitch that’s nothing to fuss about, as Sony’s going to pick up speed when they get the launch jitters out of the way.
Dille says so himself, “When you start out manufacturing, you better get the kinks out on the line, and as you go forward you pick up different efficiencies, and it’s gonna get better.”
And we sure can count on him for that. We know there’s going to be enough PS3 units for all those Sony fans out there, so cheer up. Although your Christmas won’t probably be as merry as you’d envisioned it to be, you’ll still get your ho-ho-ho’s in 2007. Hey, it’s better than nothing, right?
Regarding the rumblings about the lack of rumble features in the SIXAXIS, Dille says that Sony thought is wasn’t technically feasible for the controller: “Again, competitors do things for a reason and Sony does things their own way for a reason, and we feel like we’ve got a great product.”
And we sure can’t wait for this great product to launch. How about you?
