Peter Moore’s definition of choice: more on HD-DVD
Peter Moore, Corporate VP of the Entertainment and Devices Division at Microsoft and a comic in his own right, is by far the most confusing of Microsoft representatives. He gets game logo tattoos done to promote games being released on the Xbox and shunts some Xbox fans by claiming that backward compatibility is no longer a necessity.
Heck, he even coins the term “Wii60” just to lash out at Sony saying that the Wii is a better alternative to the PS3. And just when we thought his antics were over, he starts a whole new ball game.

Oh and don’t mind the typos – it was probably transcribed while the typist was still giggling. But you have to admit, they are pretty loopy words, aren’t they?
So in respect, he says that the HD-DVD format is far more superior, and that’s why Microsoft will be supporting the format. But they won’t be participating in the “movie format war,” although they won’t be considering a Blu-Ray movie player because it belongs to the competition. So exactly what choice can Xbox 360 fans opt for, aside from the choices that are not offered?
Ding, ding, ding! We have a winner: Xbox 360 fans choose what Microsoft chooses for them. As someone pointed out, Moore could have saved some breath (and a couple of neurons) by just saying, “We’re providing consumers with what we think gives them the best experience, optimal utility.” Oh… so that’s what he means by “choice.”
