Petrificus Totalus: Harry Potter 6 and the delayed video game of doom

Petrificus Totalus: Harry Potter 6 game delayed - Image 1Guess it’s now official. Following the announcement of the movie’s delay, Electronic Arts has now announced via press release that their video game for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will be delayed to coincide with the movie’s screening next year. Oh well. I’m sure the wait’s worth it. Besides, free-roaming in Hogwarts… with Hermione? Aww… Definitely worth it.

Harry Potter 6 - Image 1Aaand it’s official. Electronic ArtsHarry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince video game will be delayed in light of the sudden rescheduling of the movie to 2009.

Right now, the video game that was supposedly scheduled to come out this November for the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PSP, DS, Mobile, Mac, and PC, is now going to be released on summer 2009, alongside the movie.

Oh well, I’m sure the wait will sure be worth it for the Potter fans (or the Granger fans, like myself). Keeping the free-roaming aspect of Order of the Phoenix for the sixth game seems like a good direction to take – it’s like GTA only… wands instead of guns?

Let’s just hope that they don’t ban the game in some countries for potentially …traumatizing events toward the end of Year 6. (And no, we’re not talking about Dumbdledore’s fabulous coming out party. *wink*) Ha! I kid, I kid.
