There are quite a few classic RPG titles available via Nintendo’s Europe Virtual Console service, and it appears that Sega’s classic Phantasy Star 3: Generations of Doom may just fit the bill.

If you recall, Sega released Phantasy Star 3: Generations of Doom way back in 1991 for its Mega Drive-slash-Genesis console. It was a unique RPG for its time in the sense that its story actually spanned different generations within the same game.

Depending on who the characters of Rhys, Ayn and Nial eventually marry, gamers will take control of different characters in the succeeding generation. Needless to say, this makes for a lot of “what if”scenarios.

In case you’re wondering, you may download Sega’s Phantasy Star 3: Generations of Doom for 800 Wii Points via the European Virtual Console service.
